About the role

This position is based out of the Houston, TX area and services Industrial and Medical Market accounts in TX, OK, NM, CO, KS, and NE. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in expanding our regional reach, fueling business growth, and making a direct impact in a small but dynamic, privately held company.

What You'll Do

  • Identify potential customers and open doors to new opportunities.
  • Generate and manage leads through the sales pipeline.
  • Partner with our marketing team to align strategies and hit growth targets.
  • Close new business deals and contribute to expanding our market share.
  • Effectively implement new business growth campaigns by identifying, contacting, and qualifying potential customers to generate new business opportunities for the company – including outbound cold calling.
  • Manage leads through sales pipeline by setting appointments, conducting timely follow up on leads, and track progress towards meeting sales goals.
  • Use HubSpot CRM to manage leads, log activities, maintain accurate records, and generate customer insights.
  • Provide regular reports on sales activities and results to management.
  • Present, promote, and sell products and solutions to prospective customers to meet agreed-upon sales targets.
  • Deliver effective sales presentations – virtual or in-person – to committees, agencies, distributors, and end-users in the region.
  • Establish a relationship with end-users and distribution partners to drive product specification and adoption.
  • Attend networking events, industry meetings, trade shows, and association exhibitions to generate leads, build relationships, and represent Kappler's brand in the region.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends, customer needs, competitor activity, and industry developments; communicate insights to Sales and Marketing.
  • Assess competition's strengths and weakness relative to the specific region.
  • Identify regional product needs, specification opportunities, and emerging requirements and share insights with Sales leadership and Marketing.
  • Determine product options needed to achieve territory goals.
  • Assist in forecasting sales for the assigned territory in alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to budget preparation for the region, providing data and insights to management.
  • Support the development of strategies to maximize account coverage and regional sales effectiveness.
  • Continuously improve through coaching, feedback, and professional development.
  • Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in business to business cold calling outbound sales and lead generation is strongly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of the products offered in the region as well as the geography of the specific region strongly preferred, or ability to learn with training.
  • Possess a fearless attitude with the ability to overcome objections without giving up.
  • Metric motivated and driven to achieve goals.
  • Valid driver's license and conveniently located near an airport.
  • Intermediate computer skills to include ERP software.
  • Experience using CRM.
  • Basic math skills including an advanced understanding of units of measure, fractions, and decimals.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree and/or minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar or related field.

  • Travel within the U.S. is required, up to 50%.
