About the Role
Our expanding Business Development team is looking for the next team member to help drive success for our clients. As a Business Development Representative, you will work remotely and be responsible for collaborating with distribution partners and their field sales teams to promote and close business within the assigned territory. We seek a candidate with sales savvy who is comfortable working with other sales professionals to find customer solutions and satisfy end-user needs. The primary goal is to drive financial growth within the assigned territory by adding value to all relationships developed.

Responsibilities
In the first year, duties include:
- Engage with assigned Grainger Distributor Sales Districts in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Kentucky via email and phone to build relationships with District Sales Managers (DSMs) and District Sales Assistants (DSAs) and schedule introductory District Conference Calls or on-site meetings.
- Develop strong relationships with Commercial, Manufacturing, and Government DSMs and sales teams in the assigned territory.
- Participate in sales meetings, lunch and learns, branch open houses, and customer on-site events where appropriate to build relationships and grow business.
- Follow up after conference calls to qualify high-potential (>$5,000) accounts and develop a sales pipeline in Salesforce.
- Manage sales activities in Salesforce and coordinate efforts (samples, ROI calculators, proposals, webinars, or face-to-face selling) to close pipeline opportunities.
- Develop National Accounts relationships where suppliers can be specified nationally and coordinate implementation plans to create pull-through business across multiple sites.
- Manage engagement with other distributors (e.g., Fastenal, MSC, HD Supply) using the same process when supplier placement occurs.
- Support various Vendor Partner needs, such as monthly conference calls, national trade show attendance, and lead follow-up.
