Job Description

The Sales Development Representative supports sales effectiveness and revenue growth by providing analytical, operational, and administrative support to Sales Leadership and Account Management teams within the Compressors & Air Tools division. This role is responsible for sales calls, timely customer follow-up, developing reports, presentations, forecasts, and customer insights that inform business decisions, improve planning, and strengthen execution across sales programs.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, solution-minded, analytical, and comfortable translating data into actionable recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Maintain profile and contracts for sales agencies.
  • Processing and monitoring sales requests for product samples and images, working closely with Product Managers.
  • Assisting Customer Service in resolving order fulfillment issues by consulting with the Sourcing Group and customers.
  • Maintain an active repository for all customer promotional allowances, rebates, and pricing programs.
  • Aid Sales at trade shows, including booth setup, teardown, and representing MAT as a Sales Representative when necessary.
  • Build and maintain customer profiles for major customers.
  • Analyze customer point of sale (POS) data, inventory levels, price points, store counts, and rate of sale.
  • Articulate and present POS observations to multiple levels within the organization.
  • Analyzes multiple data points for sales trends, changes, and opportunities.
  • Occasional travel to MAT sites and customer locations, up to 25% annually.
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High proficiency in the use of Excel, SAP, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data in a clear and organized manner.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness.
  • The ability to gather facts quickly and make informed decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the capacity to plan and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • A proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, take initiative, and operate independently when necessary.
  • A commitment to learning and adaptability, with a willingness to embrace change.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6+ years of work experience with consumer product companies in sales or sales enablement type roles
