About the role
The Certified Color Consultant at Sally Beauty is responsible for maximizing sales and fostering customer loyalty through hair color consultations and selling behaviors.
Responsibilities
- Provide optimal customer experiences to ensure successful hair color goals are achieved.
- Introduce customers to the Hair Color category and provide professional advice and recommendations.
- Elevate Sally Beauty as the leader in hair color by driving behaviors that grow brand awareness and market share.
- Generate cross-category sales by introducing new categories and increasing sales and profitability.
- Record all sales in the POS, handle monetary transactions, complete daily paperwork, and participate in loss prevention and safety practices.
- Support the team in meeting or exceeding hair color sales goals.
- Establish technical expertise in products, policies, and programs, and complete all training programs.
- Collaborate with a wide range of customers and co-workers, assist with onboarding and training, and mentor other associates.
- Comply with safety and loss prevention policies, and adhere to inventory control procedures and hazardous material handling.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years old
- 1+ year retail sales/customer service experience preferred
- Clear, concise communication skills
- Availability to meet business scheduling needs
- Product knowledge from training to support customer service
- Ability to explain product labels
- Follow directions and perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to navigate iPad and internet/social media platforms
- Professional appearance and positive interaction with the public
Brand
- Provide an optimal customer experience and create customer retention through selling behaviors, company sales directives, and omni-channel.
- Ensure all customer transactions are complete and accurate to drive incremental sales.
- Deliver behaviors consistent with desired client survey scores and reviews.
- Determine customer color and care related needs and offer professional advice and recommendations.
- Generate cross-category sales by introducing new categories and increasing sales and profitability through brand awareness.
Operations
- Record all sales in the POS and handle monetary transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Complete daily paperwork and reporting, and make bank deposits when needed.
- Price merchandise, process back stock, assist with shipment processing, and perform housekeeping duties such as cleaning.
- Support with planograms, as needed.
- May open and close the store.
- Establish technical expertise in products, policies, and programs.
- Complete all training programs as directed.
- Be a continuous learner to stay current on industry trends.
- Be committed to ongoing training and education.
People
- Work well with others to support the customer and meet the needs of the store.
- Collaborate with a wide number of customers and co-workers on a regular basis.
- Aid in the onboarding and training needs of new associates.
- Mentor other associates to elevate hair color knowledge.
- Be an advocate for diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
