About the role

The Certified Color Consultant at Sally Beauty is responsible for maximizing sales and fostering customer loyalty through hair color consultations and selling behaviors. This role requires excellent communication skills, product knowledge, and a commitment to ongoing learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide optimal customer experiences to ensure successful hair color goals are met
• Elevate Sally Beauty as the leader in hair color
• Build lasting relationships with DIY enthusiasts
• Drive behaviors that increase brand awareness and market share
• Generate cross-category sales by introducing new categories
• Record and handle all sales transactions accurately and efficiently
• Support the team in meeting or exceeding hair color sales goals
• Complete daily paperwork and reporting, including bank deposits
• Price merchandise, process back stock, and assist with shipment processing
• Open and close the store as needed
• Establish and maintain technical expertise in products, policies, and programs
• Participate in training programs and remain current on industry trends
• Mentor other associates to enhance hair color knowledge

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 18 years old
• 1+ year retail sales/customer service experience preferred
• Clear, concise communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet business needs
• Product knowledge from training to support customer service
• Ability to explain product labels
• Follow directions and perform other duties as assigned
• Ability to navigate iPad and internet/social media platforms
• Professional appearance and positive interaction with the public

Brand

• Provide an optimal customer experience
• Create customer retention through selling behaviors and company directives
• Ensure all customer transactions are complete and accurate
• Deliver behaviors consistent with desired client survey scores and reviews
• Determine customer color and care related needs
• Offer professional advice and recommendations
• Generate cross-category sales

Operations

• Record all sales in the POS system
• Handle monetary transactions, such as sales, returns, and exchanges
• Complete daily paperwork and reporting
• Make bank deposits, when needed
• Price merchandise, process back stock, assist with shipment processing, and perform housekeeping duties
• Support with planograms, as needed
• May open and close the store

People

• Work well with others to support the customer and meet store needs
• Collaborate with a wide range of customers and co-workers
• Assist with onboarding and training of new associates
• Mentor other associates to enhance hair color knowledge
• Be an advocate for diversity, inclusion, and belonging

Safety/Loss Prevention

• Comply with and understand safety and loss prevention policies
• Follow inventory control procedures and hazardous material guidelines
