About the role

The Certified Color Consultant at Sally Beauty is responsible for maximizing sales and building strong relationships with DIY enthusiasts. This role drives brand awareness and contributes to the company's hair color market share.

Responsibilities

• Provide optimal customer experiences to ensure successful hair color goals are achieved
• Introduce customers to the Hair Color category and provide color consultations
• Elevate Sally Beauty as the leader in hair color through selling behaviors and omni-channel strategies
• Create customer retention and loyalty by delivering consistent behaviors and improving client survey scores
• Offer professional advice and recommendations to help customers achieve their hair color goals
• Generate cross-category sales by introducing new categories and increasing sales and profitability
• Record all sales in the POS system and handle monetary transactions accurately and efficiently
• Support the team in meeting or exceeding hair color sales goals
• Price merchandise, process back stock, assist with shipment processing, and perform housekeeping duties
• Open and close the store as needed
• Establish technical expertise in products, policies, and programs
• Complete all training programs and remain current on industry trends
• Collaborate with a wide range of customers and co-workers, assisting with onboarding and training needs
• Mentor other associates to enhance hair color knowledge
• Work well with others to support the customer and meet store needs
• Comply with safety and loss prevention policies and participate in inventory control and hazardous material procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 18 years old
• 1+ year retail sales/customer service experience preferred
• Clear, concise communication skills
• Availability to meet business scheduling needs
• Product knowledge from training to support customer service
• Ability to explain product labels
• Follow directions and perform other duties as assigned by Manager
• Ability to navigate iPad and internet/social media platforms
• A professional image and positive interaction with the public

Brand

Provide an optimal customer experience and create customer retention by utilizing selling behaviors, company sales directives, and omni-channel strategies. Ensure all customer transactions are complete and accurate to drive incremental sales. Deliver behaviors consistent with desired client survey scores and reviews. Determine customer color and care related needs, and offer professional advice and recommendations to ensure they have the confidence and products needed to achieve their goals. Assist the team in meeting or exceeding specific hair color sales goals.

Operations

• Record all sales in the POS system and handle monetary transactions accurately and efficiently
• Complete daily paperwork and reporting and make bank deposits, when needed
• Price merchandise, process back stock, assist with shipment processing, and perform housekeeping duties
• Support with planograms, as needed
• May open and close the store
• Establish technical expertise in products, policies, and programs
• Complete all training programs, as directed

People

• Work well with others to get the job done in support of the customer and meeting the needs of the store
• Collaborate with a wide number of customers and co-workers on a regular basis
• Assist Store Manager with onboarding and training needs of new associates
• Mentor other associates to elevate hair color knowledge
• Be an advocate for diversity, inclusion, and belonging
