About the Role

The Membership Sales Trainee's primary role is to learn how to acquire new membership sales, promote AAA products and services, establish group and corporate membership accounts, sell the brand by outlining the value of AAA, and obtain their insurance license. Trainees may work offsite at promotional tabling events while selling memberships individually.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to sell AAA memberships and focus on selling individual and corporate Membership Business Accounts in person and by phone.
  • Ensure proper price points are applied to memberships, based on the member’s request, current membership guidelines, and completed paperwork.
  • Provide information on membership and insurance to new and existing members, collect membership payments, and adhere to established guidelines and procedures for handling AAA monies and receipts.
  • Learn to develop and utilize sales leads and contacts provided from all sources.
  • Network and prospect with eligible businesses for group membership sales, including setting up meetings with potential members or conducting group presentations.
  • Monitor outside market and search for new sales opportunities.
  • Create and establish new relationships with clients while maintaining current client relationships.
  • Learn AAA insurance products and how to promote and cross-sell AAA products and services.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities and enhance member relationships by diversifying use of products and services.
  • Provide sales leads to travel, life insurance, and other business lines to support organizational growth.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of membership services, insurance, Discounts and Rewards Program, Telematics, and other products.
  • Obtain insurance license.
  • Complete daily sales call reports, expense diaries, and other required documentation.
  • Adhere to scheduled duties and activities as directed by management; attend meetings, training workshops, and seminars.
  • Complete documentation thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner, adhering to rules and guidelines to achieve membership objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Less than 1 year of sales experience, preferably in Insurance or Membership sales.
  • Professional verbal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated advanced level of competitive and persistent nature.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks and assignments.
  • Valid Driver’s License, acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles record, and minimum liability insurance issued by the state.
  • Property and Casualty Insurance License, valid in selling state, issued by the state within 120 days of hire.

Schedule

Local travel for sales calls within assigned territory (40% proficiency).
