Job Description
Position Summary
- Strategic Oversight & Compliance - Regulatory Leadership: Act as the primary advisor for OSHA inspections—providing guidance before, during, and after visits to minimize risk and ensure total compliance.
- Reporting Excellence: Oversee the lifecycle of OSHA 300/300A reporting, including annual production, electronic filing, and supporting Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) submissions.
- Regulatory Intelligence: Stay up to date on shifting OSHA, insurance, and regulatory mandates, translating complex updates into clear, actionable communication for stakeholders.
- Training & Program Development - Curriculum Design: Create and deliver high-impact safety training for Company Presidents and staff.
- Adaptive Learning: Manage the safety onboarding process, making data-driven decisions to adjust training timelines and requirements based on specific local company needs.
- Risk Mitigation & Performance - Telematics Integration: Partner with local companies to optimize telematics data, integrating it into a cohesive safety strategy that demonstrates measurable improvements in driver behavior and fleet safety.
- Claim Response: Coordinate targeted safety retraining for personnel involved in claims, either directly or through delegation to the Safety Training Specialist.
- Risk Management Synergy: Work cross-functionally with the Risk Management team to ensure a unified message to health and safety.
- Leadership & Relationship Management - Stakeholder Influence: Build deep, professional relationships with local companies to foster a culture of cooperation, respect, and proactive safety participation.
- Mentorship: Lead and develop the Safety Training Specialist, managing their performance and professional growth.
Qualifications
- A natural ability to promote and embed a "safety-first" mindset across diverse business units.
- Strong skills in designing, writing, and implementing organizational processes from scratch.
- The ability to make informed, firm decisions under pressure or within tight time constraints.
- Exceptional patience, perseverance, and the ability to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive experience in occupational safety or risk management
- Completion of advanced safety certification programs and a deep functional knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and database management.
- Experience with IBM systems and specialized safety platforms (Otis/Summit) is preferred.
