Safety Compliance Supervisor - Temp
About the role
This position is a temporary role lasting 5-8 months. It involves managing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives to meet regulatory requirements and EHS needs of client accounts. The role also includes maintaining certifications, implementing health and safety programs, coordinating emergency response teams, and responding to safety concerns.
Responsibilities
- Maintains ISO, OSHA equivalent, and/or ICS certification as required.
- Implements health and safety programs at the site level, including site metrics, regulatory documentation, H&S audits, risk assessments, awareness training, incident investigations, ergonomic evaluations, and investigating employee safety concerns.
- Coordinates the site Emergency Response Team (ERT), recruiting and training ERT members, coordinating quarterly practice sessions, and assisting with facilities-wide evacuation drills.
- Aids in pandemic response, assisting with return to office initiatives, contact tracing, and investigations of COVID-19 case transmission.
- Reports information to onsite management and responds to additional requests as needed.
- Maintains site EHS metrics and distributes as required.
- Collaborates with Security and Workplace to monitor standards and regulations, processes documents, and reports periodically to program management teams.
- Conducts regular audits and inspections, tracks and reports progress on health and safety observations, and ensures sites have easy access to EHS documentation.
- Schedules and facilitates meetings and webinars to disseminate gathered information.
- Provides health and safety support for events, both onsite and offsite.
- Directly line manages team members within assigned area and indirectly manages safety and security officers.
- Supports global and regional level projects and initiatives as required.
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old, have a reliable means of communication and transportation, legal right to work in USA, and be able to speak, read, and write English. Must have a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent, and be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
Qualifications
At entry level, additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position. Minimum hiring standards include a bachelor’s degree in HSE from a four-year college or university, or sufficient training, experience, or combination to substitute for degree, and minimum of 5 years of related experience. Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety, and environmental regulations is essential. Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and/or compliance officers is preferred. ISO 45001 management standard experience is a plus. Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, OneNote, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, as well as SharePoint.
