Rural Training & Development Coordinator

About the Role

Works with local lead agencies, academic institutions, community partners, and regional social service and healthcare networks. Responsibilities include coordinating rural-centric workforce training and development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, adapt, and implement training curricula
• Organize a regional career and professional development conference
• Plan and facilitate monthly technical assistance sessions for peer support, traditional health, and social service staff
• Conduct targeted outreach to identify and recruit training participants

Schedule

Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public health, social work, community development, social services, public administration, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in community coordination, training logistics, or program management; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
• Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license and automobile insurance, and have access to and use of a personal automobile as a condition of employment

About Polk County

Polk County is located in the Willamette Valley just an hour from the Pacific Coast to the west and an hour from Portland to the north. The population is approximately 87,000 and the area spans about 744 square miles, with two-thirds of the western part of the county being forest. National protected areas include the Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge and Siuslaw National Forest.
