Responsibilities

• Follow approved procedures for the start-up, shutdown, normal operations, monitoring, servicing, and maintenance of all equipment and systems at the coal generating facility.
• Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures to follow during periods of abnormal operation.
• Monitor equipment performance through test, analysis, and report variances.
• Perform maintenance of plant equipment, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated basic computer skills utilizing windows applications, emails, and work management software
• Demonstrated mechanical, electrical, or I&C experience
• Ability to wear all required safety equipment and work in confined spaces
• Ability to pass respiratory physical and wear all personal protective equipment
• Ability to undergo training and participate in specialty team training, including Fire Brigade, Confined Space, Rescue, Hazmat & First Responder
• Successful completion of EEI's Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) and/or Power Plant Maintenance Selection System (MASS)
• Ability to work around equipment that generates electromagnetic fields (EMF)
• Weight restriction of 325 pounds as an essential function of the job

Qualifications

• Previous Wastewater experience
• Experience working with automated machinery
• Experience and ability to monitor and troubleshoot equipment in fluid system operation (pumps, valves, boilers, etc.)
• Experience or training in computer-controlled equipment
• Experience or training in mechanical and electrical equipment
• Positive work attitude, initiative, and ability to work effectively with others
• Quick learning ability and self-motivation
• Leadership skills and experiences

Rotating shifts - 12 hr Night/Day
