About the Role

As an Air Ambulance Pilot, you will ensure the safe, rapid transportation of patients, collaborating with medical teams and ground crews to execute emergency missions. You will operate aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations, plan flights considering weather, weight, and fuel needs, and respond promptly to emergency calls.

Responsibilities

  • Operate aircraft safely and in accordance with policies and protocols
  • Plan and execute flights, ensuring proper weather, weight, and fuel management
  • Coordinate with medical staff, ground crew, and dispatch for seamless missions
  • Maintain accurate flight and maintenance logs
  • Represent the organization professionally during interactions with patients and the public

Requirements

  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
  • Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate
  • Minimum of 2,500 helicopter flight hours, including night, cross-country, and instrument hours
  • Ability to pass a 135.293 check ride upon hire
  • Strong communication, decision-making, situational awareness, and teamwork skills
  • Physical ability to perform pre-flight inspections, lift up to 50 pounds, and meet FAA medical standards
  • Tolerance for varied conditions and environmental exposure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in air ambulance operations
  • Experience with night vision goggles
  • Experience with turbine engines

$46.24 - $72.80 per hour
