About the role

The Air Ambulance Pilot is responsible for safely operating aircraft to provide rapid, life-saving medical transportation. This involves planning and executing flights in compliance with FAA regulations, collaborating with medical teams, ground crews, and dispatch, and responding promptly to emergency calls.

Responsibilities

• Operate aircraft while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations and protocols.
• Plan flights considering weather, weight, and fuel needs.
• Maintain accurate flight and maintenance logs.
• Represent the organization professionally with patients and the public.

Qualifications & Skills

• FAA Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate ratings.
• Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate.
• At least 2,500 hours helicopter flight time, including night and instrument hours.
• Ability to perform pre-flight/post-flight inspections and handle equipment.
• Strong communication, decision-making, teamwork, and situational awareness skills.
• Physical fitness to meet FAA standards, including lifting up to 50 pounds and tolerating environmental conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in air ambulance operations or with Night Vision Goggle.
• Additional night and turbine-engine flight hours.
• Residence within one hour of the base location.

Additional Details

The position is based at Burlington Air Base, Wisconsin, with a typical schedule of 40 hours per week. The hourly pay ranges from $46.24 to $72.80, depending on experience. Benefits include comprehensive wellness programs.
