Roseville, Michigan Seeking Hospice Companion Volunteers (Non-Paid)

About the role

AdvisaCare Hospice is looking for compassionate and dependable people to be there for our hospice patients in Macomb County. No healthcare experience is needed, and you must be 18 or older. You can volunteer near you in your area.

Responsibilities

• Sitting bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
• Providing caregiver relief inside private residences
• Pet therapy (already licensed dogs) to visit with patients
• Playing the guitar bedside of hospice patients
• Bereavement volunteer support calls to families and assisting with grief groups
• Pre-med students who want to learn about gerontology patient care
• Grief support (remote)

Requirements

• Willing to submit TB and drug tests
• Willing to be fingerprinted
