Room Inspector - Dollywood's HeartSong Lodge & Resort - Full Time Year Round
Summary Of Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Inspects the overall cleanliness, appearance, and condition of rooms after cleaning by housekeeping staff to ensure quality standards are met; identify and resolve quality problems.
Inspects all televisions, tv remotes, alarm clocks, telephones, and any electronic devices provided in rooms to insure all are in working order; immediately report any problems to maintenance.
Checks all entry locks on rooms to make sure they are in proper working order.
Manages the completion of the annual room’s deep clean process, ensuring that all work is completed and product is ready.
Inspects the overall cleanliness of the public space areas and ensure quality standards are met and maintained. Identify and resolve quality problems.
Analyzes data, evaluate systems, products and technology and establish quality control procedures.
Ensures that proper maintenance is provided in order to extend the useful life of assets and the dependability of equipment.
Affords assistance with Housekeeping Management in supervising housekeeping employees and ensuring that they are treated fairly and provided a positive work environment.
Affords assistance to management in evaluating, coaching, disciplining, motivating and training all hosts.
Performs special projects as needed.
Ensures that all work is completed in a safe manner and that it complies with the company safety program and all applicable deferral, state, and local laws or regulations and industry standards.
Follows company policies to handle any safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; completes safety training and certifications.
Counsels and trains departmental staff on new procedures and techniques.
Evaluates cleaning supplies; investigates cleaning product quality problems and recommends changes or improvements.
Education And Experience Required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have at least 1 years’ experience as a room inspector in hotel/hospitality
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, college preferred
- Must have a work history that demonstrates supervisory skills to include verbal and written communication, leadership, planning, and organizing
- Must have basic computer knowledge and usage preferred
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
- Able to safely operate company vehicles according to company policy. Must have valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance and acceptable motor vehicle driving record

Physical And Cognitive Requirements
- Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting
- Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours. Employees may also be required to travel to various areas on property which may include changes in terrain, stairs and uneven surfaces
- Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions
- Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat. Employees may be required to work indoors and outdoors
- Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved methods
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job, i.e., stooping, bending, high level of manual dexterity for operating small tools, walking on uneven ground, pulling, pushing, etc.
