Server Assistant - Dollywood's HeartSong Lodge & Resort - Full Time Year Round

The Server Assistant is responsible for delivering food from the kitchen to diners, ensuring an excellent dining experience through proper service steps, and maintaining a great work environment for fellow hosts and vendors. The role requires living out Dollywood’s "Lead with Love" qualities: patience, kindness, trust, unselfishness, truthfulness, forgiveness, dedication, and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Check with Manager for daily forecast and training objectives
- Ascertain daily specials from the kitchen and communicate them to the team
- Assist the service and kitchen team by bringing complete food orders from the kitchen to the dining room and serving food to guests following trained guidelines
- Clear tables as needed and assist with water and bread service
- Consistently remove soiled dishes from tables and reset tables to standard throughout service
- Maintain buffet cleanliness, food quality, and presentation (if applicable)
- Inspect the dining room for cleanliness, proper supply levels, and staffing
- Clean and organize workstation and maintain a sanitary environment in compliance with local and federal health codes
- Perform service and runner duties as appropriate
- Be willing to work in other disciplines within the department as directed by management
- Provide excellent guest service at every opportunity
- Participate in upsell strategies as directed by management
- Attend daily line-ups and practice service standards and current training throughout service
- Assume duties of Supervisor in their absence or as directed
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to obtain Food Handler certification
- Basic computer knowledge and usage preferred
- Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of onboarding, including background screening and pre-employment drug screening

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting
- Mobility: Intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 13 hours per shift
- Repetitive Movements: Performing repetitive movements and tasks, including repeated use of hands, arms, or other body parts
- Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat
- Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: Strong cognitive skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication using approved methods
- Able to sit and/or stand for long or short periods
