The House Attendant maintains a professional, positive, and upbeat attitude while distributing clean linens to closets, ensuring the Laundry Department receives all dirty linens, cleaning and supplying assigned areas (including room attendant carts, storage rooms, and public areas), and supporting the housekeeping department by running supplies to room attendants and guests. This role ensures all floors are maintained in a clean and safe manner, aligned with the mission, values, and operating philosophies of The Dollywood Company.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all dirty linen and trash are removed from departure rooms
  • Keeps all guest corridors and stairways neat, clean, vacuumed, and dusted
  • Shampoos and extracts carpets, polishes/buffs floors as outlined by the Executive Housekeeper on the floor schedule and as needed/requested
  • Cleans all linen closets on all 6 floors and empties trash on all floors
  • Restocks guestroom supplies in linen closets daily
  • Delivers guest-requested items when requested
  • Assists Room Attendants by ensuring the linen-chute storage area is clear and providing blue laundry bins for soiled linen
  • Delivers linen from the laundry to the floors as needed
  • Offers assistance to guests whenever possible
  • Assists during deep cleaning tasks such as turning mattresses, moving furniture, cleaning bunk beds, and removing sheers and drapes
  • Empties trash from housekeeping areas
  • Transports trash and waste to the central disposal area
  • Delivers roll-away beds and cribs to guests

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Basic computer knowledge and usage preferred
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of onboarding, including background screening and pre-employment drug screening

Physical and Cognitive Requirements

  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasional to frequent lifting of up to 20 lbs., following company safety guidelines
  • Mobility: Intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 13 hours per shift; may require travel to various areas on property, including changes in terrain, stairs, and uneven surfaces
  • Repetitive Movements: May require performing repetitive movements and tasks, including repeated use of hands, arms, or other body parts
  • Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat; may require working indoors and outdoors
  • Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: Strong cognitive skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, processing and retaining information, attention to detail, and effective communication using approved methods
  • Able to meet physical demands of the job, including stooping, bending, elevated manual dexterity for operating small tools, walking on uneven ground, pulling, pushing, etc.
