Room Inspector - Dollywood's DreamMore Resort & Spa - Full Time Year Round

The Room Inspector is responsible for inspecting all areas in a unit and public spaces as assigned, ensuring proper inspection of linens and amenities, assisting with weekly/monthly inventory, and dispatch duties. Reports will be turned in daily to the Executive Housekeeper, all while upholding the mission, values, and operating philosophies of The Dollywood Company. Responsibilities
- Inspect the overall cleanliness, appearance, and condition of rooms after cleaning by housekeeping staff to ensure quality standards are met; identify and resolve quality problems.
- Inspect all televisions, TV remotes, alarm clocks, telephones, and any electronic devices provided in rooms to ensure all are in working order; immediately report any problems to maintenance.
- Check all entry locks on rooms to ensure they are in proper working order.
- Manage the completion of the annual room’s deep clean process, ensuring all work is completed and product is ready.
- Inspect the overall cleanliness of public spaces and ensure quality standards are met and maintained; identify and resolve quality problems.
- Analyze data, evaluate systems, products, and technology, and establish quality control procedures.
- Ensure proper maintenance is provided to extend the useful life of assets and the dependability of equipment.
- Assist Housekeeping Management in supervising housekeeping employees, ensuring they are treated fairly and provided a positive work environment.
- Assist management in evaluating, coaching, disciplining, motivating, and training all hosts; perform special projects as needed.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with the company safety program and all applicable federal, state, and local laws or regulations and industry standards.
- Follow company policies to handle any safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
- Conduct departmental and on-the-job training of housekeeping staff.
- Evaluate cleaning supplies; investigate cleaning product quality problems and recommend changes or improvements.
- Monitor cleaning supplies, keep inventory of supplies, and notify management if orders need to be placed.
- Complete any Company or Departmental required Leadership Training and Leadership Classes.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- At least 1 year of experience as a room inspector in hotel/hospitality.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college preferred.
- Work history demonstrating supervisory skills, including verbal and written communication, leadership, planning, and organizing.
- Basic computer knowledge and usage preferred.
- Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of onboarding process, including background screening and pre-employment drug screening.

Physical and Cognitive Requirements
- Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting.
- Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing, and/or walking for the duration of the shift, up to 13 hours. Employees may also be required to travel to various areas on property, which may include changes in terrain, stairs, and uneven surfaces.
- Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms, or other body parts as part of typical job functions.
- Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat. Employees may be required to work indoors and outdoors.
- Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail, and communicate effectively using approved methods.
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job, including stooping, bending, high level of manual dexterity for operating small tools, walking on uneven ground, pulling, pushing, etc.
