Responsibilities
- Perform roofing duties associated with hot applied systems
- Perform roofing duties associated with torch applied systems
- Perform roofing duties associated with cold process systems
- Perform roofing duties associated with the layout pattern of the insulation
- Lay out felt paper
- Operate roofing equipment
- Lay out a roof to incorporate needed slope and drainage
- Lay out insulation for maximum use of material and best performance
- Count materials on site and keep usage information to ensure proper coverages
- Communicate material usage to foreman along with remaining inventories
- Install membranes per industry and manufacturer specifications
- Supervise apprentices and coach each to become more proficient
- Consult with foreman on project specific specifications
- Probe and initial detail work
- Complete all detail and finish work
- Fields install basic sheet metal flashings and trim
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required
- Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience required
- Knowledge: Currently 18 years or older, valid driver’s license and insurable driving record required
- Skills: Comfortable climbing ladders up to 60 ft tall, ability to lift 100 LBS or more, eligible to work in the U.S., successful background check, pass pre-employment and random drug tests, demonstrate the desire to learn the commercial roofing trade, able to take direct commands, demonstrate effective communications skills, complete basic academic skills: ability to read and write, demonstrate good motor skills, commit to and practice good attendance, practice and follow industry safety standards, withstand demands of extreme weather conditions, have a sound mind
- Working Conditions: Full time onsite, ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, State and Federal regulations.
