About the role
Garver is seeking an entry-level Roadway Project Engineer to join our growing Transportation Team in Oklahoma City to continue the tradition of providing quality service to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and creation of construction documents on a wide variety of transportation projects, including:
- Typical sections
- Geometric layouts
- Drainage and hydraulic analysis
- Erosion control plans
- Safety features
- Maintenance of traffic plans
- Perform tasks associated with producing a set of construction documents, including drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Train and mentor younger engineers.
- Manage task assignments for younger engineers and technicians.
- Participate in marketing aspects of project procurement to understand the “big picture” of our business.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI), or the ability to become one within 1 year of employment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience or internship in consulting engineering with a primary focus on transportation projects.
- Experience with MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads.
- Familiarity with AASHTO's highway and traffic publications.
