About the role

Garver is seeking an entry-level Roadway Project Engineer to join our growing Transportation Team in Oklahoma City to continue the tradition of providing quality service to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and creation of construction documents on a wide variety of transportation projects, including:
    • Typical sections
    • Geometric layouts
    • Drainage and hydraulic analysis
    • Erosion control plans
    • Safety features
    • Maintenance of traffic plans
  • Perform tasks associated with producing a set of construction documents, including drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Train and mentor younger engineers.
  • Manage task assignments for younger engineers and technicians.
  • Participate in marketing aspects of project procurement to understand the “big picture” of our business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI), or the ability to become one within 1 year of employment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience or internship in consulting engineering with a primary focus on transportation projects.
  • Experience with MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO's highway and traffic publications.
