Roadway Engineer – Junior Level

About the role

Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Roadway Engineer to join our Richmond office.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply established principles and practices of civil engineering.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of duties and to work as a team.
• Design and preparation of documents for: Minor and major roadway Sidewalks Shoulder improvements Drainage design projects.
• Duties include assisting a project manager with tasks associated with: Plan preparation Cost estimates Report writing Client coordination Permitting

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering required
• 2-5 years of experience working with an engineering consulting firm; required
• Experience in transportation roadway design; required
• Experience working with State DOT projects is a Plus
• Software experience: required Working with Microstation Autocad and other additional cad platforms Civil 3D
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
