Roadway Engineer I
Job Description
Collaborate often with senior engineers, perform various roadway engineering and design assignments requiring the application of engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.
Utilize drafting and modeling software, tools, and programs, to develop conceptual and detailed designs.
Perform design calculations including material quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates.
Assist in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects.
Assist in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- 3+ years of related work experience with road and highway projects
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred
- Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation Geopak and/or OpenRoads, is required
- Demonstrated communication skills and the willingness to foster a team environment
