Sentara Heart Hospital located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the Cardiac ICU (CICU). The Sentara Heart Hospital, a 112‑bed care facility, is ranked #2 for Cardiology services and Heart Surgery in Virginia and #24 nationally for best heart programs. The position works Weekend Nights.
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator performs competent nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care—teaching and health promotion, and evaluation) and follows the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health). The CICU has 12 beds on the 2nd floor and serves patients with cardiac non‑surgical cases, pulmonary hypertension, heart attack, heart failure, sepsis, shock, and other ICU‑level care needs. CICU nurses are part of the hospital's Medical Response Team.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) required, or MSN.
- Certification/Licensure: Virginia RN License (Virginia or Compact/Multi‑State eligible).
