About the Role

The Trauma Program Manager is a registered nurse with expertise in trauma nursing practice who is responsible for the development, implementation, operation, and evaluation of the TAC Trauma Program. This role oversees the organization of services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to providing care to injured patients, working both independently and in collaboration with the Trauma Program Medical Director, multidisciplinary healthcare team, and management staff.

This position assumes day-to-day responsibility for process and performance improvement activities related to nursing, registry, and injury prevention staff. The Trauma Program Manager is considered a technical expert in the trauma field, responsible for oversight of a highly complex patient population and program with organizational, local, regional, state, and national impact.

The role involves directing, evaluating, and providing feedback to professional-level employees participating in trauma program operations, promoting education and research, and communicating resource needs across multiple departments. The Trauma Program Manager reports directly to the Director of Emergency Services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, operate, and evaluate the TAC Trauma Program.
  • Organize services and systems for a multidisciplinary approach to trauma care.
  • Lead process and performance improvement activities related to nursing, registry, and injury prevention staff.
  • Oversee a highly complex patient population and trauma program with broad impact.
  • Direct, evaluate, and provide feedback to professional-level employees in the trauma program.
  • Promote education and research initiatives within the trauma program.
  • Communicate resource needs across multiple departments.
  • Collaborate with the Trauma Program Medical Director and healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Texas.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience in trauma and/or emergency care.
  • Must obtain certification in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Trauma Outcomes Performance Improvement Course (TOPIC), and Trauma Registry Course (TRC) within one year of hire.
