About the role
The Trauma Nursing Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Trauma Services, ensuring safe patient flow, proper staffing, and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards. They will support and develop nursing staff while collaborating with physicians and other teams to deliver efficient, high-quality care. The manager will also monitor key performance metrics, manage resources, and lead initiatives that improve patient outcomes and department readiness.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate resources and activities necessary to ensure the Trauma Services meets regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the collection of Trauma data and maintain statistical information for the Trauma Registry.
- Coordinate the tracking of Trauma patients throughout the Trauma system (pre-hospital to rehabilitation).
- Coordinate trauma educational programs for the institution as well as public education and prevention programs in the community.
- Demonstrate ability to work in a collaborative relationship with other healthcare members in the promotion and provision of comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize strong communication and writing skills, along with considerable emotional, physical, and mental stamina and stability.
Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License required.
- Current BLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current.
- TNCC required upon hire and maintain current.
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in an acute care hospital emergency department.
- Excellent clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Team approach to patient care.
- Working knowledge of computers and computer applications.
- Day and evening flexibility required.
Preferred Qualifications
- ENPC and CEN or CCRN preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
