RN Telephone Triage (Work from Home)

About the Role

AccessNurse-TeamHealth is the premier medical call center, delivering 24/7 telephone nurse triage, answering services, and health information services to hospitals, physician offices, and insurance plans across the country. We serve more than 20,000 clinicians and practices along with healthcare systems, health plans, and federally qualified health centers. From day one, you’ll work from home using advanced evidence-based clinical decision tools to help patients get the right level of care at the right time.

Full-time and part-time opportunities are available for evenings and weekends (20+ hours). Weekends and holidays are required. Incentives are available for bilingual Spanish-speaking Telephone Triage RNs.

Responsibilities

• Assess symptoms using physician-developed clinical algorithms.
• Deliver and document health education to assist patients in managing their symptoms when indicated.
• Assist in getting patients to the appropriate level of care (e.g., home care, an office visit, emergency room).
• Consult with physicians as needed.

Requirements

• Current multi-state RN license with no restrictions; nurses currently holding a single-state RN license must obtain a multi-state license prior to being made a job offer.
• 2+ years of RN experience.
• Proficiency using computers and typing a minimum of 25 wpm.
• Excellent listening and comprehension skills to determine key information by patient.

Remote Workstation / HIPAA Requirements

• Must have a high-speed internet connection.
• Workstation must be in a room where the door can be locked.
• Desk should be large enough to hold 2 monitors, computer, accessories, and a hands-free headset.
• Ability to handle confidential information; HIPAA compliance is mandatory.

Remote Training Schedule

Format: Virtual (Zoom)
Duration: 3 weeks
Attendance: 100% attendance required

• Week 1: September 14th – September 18th
  M-F Live Zoom 10:00 am-2:00 pm EST, then 4 hrs/day of Self-Study
• Week 2: September 21st – September 25th
  M-F Live Zoom 10:00 am-2:00 pm EST, then 4 hrs/day of Self-Study
• Week 3: September 28th – October 2nd
  M-F Shift days/times with a preceptor will be discussed with the education manager.
