About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing competent nursing care using the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills relevant to specific clinical areas and meet any specialty-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients to identify health problems and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and goals.
  • Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with treatments.
  • Evaluate patient progress towards achieving care goals and make necessary adjustments to the plan of care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Teach patients and their families about self-care, disease management, and preventive health practices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.

Requirements

  • Current Virginia or Compact Multi-State RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or Master’s Degree in Nursing.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology.
