RN - Registered Nurse - CVICU - Multiple Shifts

About the role

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at UAB St. Vincent’s East is an 8-bed unit specializing in post-operative care for patients recovering from coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and other complex cardiovascular surgeries. Staff here have the opportunity to work with advanced cardiac support devices and procedures like hemodynamic monitoring, fostering a setting where they can grow and thrive while delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Absorb and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire.
