Job Summary

The Regional Operations Manager, Surgical Services plays a pivotal role in leading and scaling EyeSouth’s Ambulatory Surgery Center operations. This individual will oversee the performance of ASC Administrators and Nurse Managers across a regional network, ensuring clinical, operational, and financial excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage ASC Facility Administrators and Nurse Managers, providing leadership, mentorship, and accountability to ensure operational performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement best practices to enhance clinical and administrative processes, optimize resource utilization, and achieve operational excellence.
  • Conduct regular site visits and operational audits to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to optimize OR utilization, block scheduling, and case flow.
  • Support ASCs with staffing plans, performance improvement initiatives, and accreditation preparation.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, IT, and Revenue Cycle teams to support ASC initiatives and integrations.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to develop and manage budgets, analyze financial performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and practice leadership to align ASC operations with practice growth and strategic objectives.
  • Work with Clinical Training to ensure consistent onboarding and training of surgical staff and ASC personnel.
  • Collaborate with site administrators to enhance patient and physician satisfaction, optimize workflows, and deliver on access targets.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required and must be in good standing with the state nursing board.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration (MSN, MHA, MBA) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in perioperative services or surgical operations, including multi-site leadership and staff management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in surgical services management, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC regulatory compliance, accreditation (AAAHC, CMS, ACHA, QUAD A, and state licensing regulations), and operational best practices.
  • Demonstrated success in standardizing operations across a regional or national platform.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including experience managing large operating budgets, forecasts and ROI evaluations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change in complex healthcare settings.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
