RN Post Surgical Unit Nights

About the role

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse for their Post-Surgical Unit!

Responsibilities

• Provides all nursing care services for post-surgical patients in accordance with accepted standards of care.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients based on individual needs and physician’s orders.
• Responds quickly and appropriately to emergency situations.
• Identifies and implements educational needs for patients and families.
• Manages acute and chronic pain for patients, particularly post-procedure or surgical patients.
• Delivers medication based on patient assessment, safety, and response.
• Performs Medical Screening Exams (MSE) as delegated by the Medical Executive Committee.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN License.
• Current BLS certification, ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience as an RN in a hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU Unit.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skill level to assess patient needs and communicate effectively.
• Experience with Electronic Healthcare Records.
