RN - PHYSICIAN OFFICE NURSE - BEEBE CARDIOLOGY

Responsibilities

• Triages patients and uses clinical judgement to implement nursing interventions in a timely manner.
• Delegates elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and the State of Delaware Board of Nursing Rules and Regulations.
• Acts as a preceptor and mentor for other licensed and unlicensed clinical team members.
• Timely completion of assigned education and annual competencies.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates an identified plan of care.
• Prioritizes and coordinates care delivery and provides initial education to patients, families, and/or caregivers.
• Administers medications according to policy.
• (IV push medications may only be administered by RNs per the Nurse Practice Act and the State of Delaware Board of Nursing Rules and Regulations)
• Collects, analyzes, and documents the assessment data to determine the actual or potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and identifies expected outcomes.
• Recognizes unit needs and is a liaison between the clinical staff and leadership to assist in development and maintenance of office specific policies, procedures, and/or protocols that will promote safety and encourage efficient workflows.
• Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice.
• Utilizes appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.
• Advocates for clients.
• Actively assists others and accepts additional duties or assignments.
