Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Cardiology

About the role

The cardiology clinic at 22 Atwood Drive in Northampton, MA, is seeking a full-time, 40-hour Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join their team. The schedule consists of five 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The NP/PA will work 36 clinical/patient facing hours and 4 hours dedicated to administrative time.

Responsibilities

• Afford clinical responsibilities primarily in the office/clinic setting, with additional responsibilities in the stress lab at Cooley Dickinson Hospital (30 Locust St, Northampton, MA) two days per week.
• Participate in the weekend call rotation – approximately 1 in 9 weekends.
• Assess and manage follow-up patients in the outpatient setting following established standards and practices.
• Perform complete histories and physical examinations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develop appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
• Order medications and write prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Provide high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
• Perform bedside procedures as appropriate to the patient population.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN-NP - State License] required.
• 2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience, 1-2 years required.
• 3+ years of experience working as an NP/PA in cardiology and/or heart failure required.
