Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Cardiology

About the role

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our well-established Cardiology team. This position is based at our practice located at 260 Merrimac Street in Newburyport, MA. The practice is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The APP will provide 36 hours of direct patient care and 4 hours of dedicated administrative time each week. There are no weekend, holiday, or on-call responsibilities associated with this role.

Responsibilities

• Evaluation and management of new, low-acuity consults
• Ongoing follow-up care for established patients
• Review and interpretation of diagnostic testing results
• Providing direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population
• Assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions
• Developing appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings
• Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Ordering medications and writing prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures
• Consistently providing high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries
• Performing bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population

Qualifications

• Master's Degree Nursing required
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN-NP - State License] - Generic - HR Only required
• 2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience 1-2 years required
