Full time, on-site day shift (40 hours, Monday–Friday).

About the role

The Performance Improvement Specialist implements and maintains a compliant, comprehensive, organization-wide Safety, Quality, and Performance Improvement Program.

Responsibilities

• Perform audits and gap analysis in response to patient and family concerns, department-specific events or trends, and other authorized parties
• Communicate serious adverse events and follow through on submission of required documentation
• Analyze monthly data, create and drive performance improvement activities, and help implement change
• Assist in training safety curriculum for all staff
• Conduct root cause investigations in surgery
• Perform chart reviews and audits to support investigations

Requirements

• Connecticut RN license required
• Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field preferred
• At least five (5) years hospital experience preferred
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, patient quality of care, and safety initiatives; RCA or Lean Management skills preferred
• Leadership experience with regulatory requirements for reporting and subsequent response criteria
