Responsibilities

Follow the nursing process, which includes:

• Assessment – Demonstrate a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze healthcare consumer data, including psychological, physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
• Plan – Set measurable and achievable short- and long-term goals according to standards of care based on the assessment, in collaboration with the healthcare consumer and multidisciplinary team.
• Implement – Implement and/or modify the plan of care using assessment data, clinical reasoning, standards of care, and evidence-based practice. This includes care coordination, education, and discharge planning. The nurse is accountable for care directly, indirectly, or through delegation, following professional and legal standards for delegation.
• Evaluate – Use a systematic, ongoing process to evaluate progress toward identified healthcare consumer goals. Revise the plan of care as needed, involving the healthcare consumer and multidisciplinary team. Document all phases of the nursing process in the healthcare consumer’s record.

You will also be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient’s individual physician and educating patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.

Requirements

• Graduate of an RN nursing program
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Nebraska, upon hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – CPR certification, upon hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, within 5 months of hire

The Progressive Care Unit at CHI Health St. Elizabeth is a 24-bed stepdown unit, incorporating a multidisciplinary approach to care for patients with diverse disease processes.
