Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients.
- Assume responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
- Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control.
- Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
- Administer all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
- Perform and fulfill all HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed during emergencies and/or disasters.
- Know the hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adhere to hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
- Supervise staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and ensure competency of clinical staff.
- Support the CNO to ensure high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care and resource management related to patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Required). Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing (Preferred).
- 1 year of RN experience for PRN status (Required). Recent acute care experience (Preferred).
- Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as an RN as required by law, regulation in the state of practice, or policy.
- AHA BLS certification (Required).
- If applicable by corporate policy for the unit of hire: AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP (Required).
