As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. Responsibilities

Follow the nursing process, which includes:

  • Assessment – Collect and analyze healthcare consumer data, including psychological, physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
  • Plan – Set measurable and achievable short- and long-term goals based on standards of care, in collaboration with the healthcare consumer and multidisciplinary team.
  • Implement – Execute and modify the plan of care using assessment data, clinical reasoning, standards of care, and evidence-based practice. Includes care coordination, education, discharge planning, and delegation in accordance with professional and legal standards.
  • Evaluate – Use a systematic, ongoing process to evaluate progress toward patient goals. Revise the plan of care as needed, involving the healthcare consumer and multidisciplinary team.

Document all phases of the nursing process in the healthcare consumer’s record.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an RN nursing program
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – CPR certification, upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, within 5 months of hire

CHI Health St. Elizabeth, founded in 1889 by the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration, is a full-service, 260-bed nonprofit regional medical center in Lincoln, Nebraska. The hospital specializes in newborn and pediatric care, women’s health, burn and wound care, cardiology, oncology, emergency medicine, orthopedics, and neuroscience.

The Progressive Care Unit is a 24-bed stepdown unit using a multidisciplinary approach to care for patients with diverse disease processes. As an RN, you will deliver high-quality patient care according to physician orders, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and families on prevention and healthy habits.
