About the role

The Progressive Care Unit registered nurse provides direct patient care, with a 1:3 ratio in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, to assigned patients in the Progressive Care Unit. The registered nurse is a supportive, compassionate, efficient, detail-oriented team player with excellent interpersonal skills and who collaboratively maintains the plan of care for vulnerable patients.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing treatments as per the plan of care.
• Maintains a 1:3 patient ratio in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Documents patient care activities accurately and timely.
• Ensures patient safety and comfort through attentive observation and prompt intervention.

Requirements

• Current California RN license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification.
• One year nursing experience in Definitive Observation/Step Down/Progressive Care Setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships across the Health System.
• Exercises excellent observation and sound nursing judgment, excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate care needs.
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision; excellent organizational skills.
• Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligations.
