About the role

The Medical Telemetry registered nurse provides direct patient care, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, to assigned patients in the Medical Telemetry. The registered nurse is supportive, compassionate, efficient, detail-oriented team player with excellent interpersonal skills and who collaboratively maintains plan of care for the highly vulnerable patients.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, to assigned patients in the Medical Telemetry.
• Supports, cares for, and educates patients and families.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement plan of care for highly vulnerable patients.
• Monitors and reports changes in patient status to physician and/or supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Current California RN license.
• AHA BLS and ACLS Certification.
• NIHSS within 90 days of hire.
• Recent Acute Care experience in Telemetry.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
• Knowledge of telemetry equipment and its proper use.
• Knowledge of telemetry monitoring techniques and interpretation of telemetry data.

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
