RN PACU - Part-Time Variable

About the role

The Clinical Staff PACU Nurse is a registered nurse responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in the post-anesthesia setting.

Responsibilities

• Utilize nursing processes to assess, plan, and adapt care; recognize clinical changes; prioritize patient needs; and ensure follow-through.
• Provide age-appropriate care, apply current research, and foster therapeutic nurse-patient relationships.
• Conduct hourly patient rounds, communicate effectively using SBAR, and document assessments and care plans in line with hospital policies.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning, communicate patient condition changes, and evaluate intervention outcomes.
• Supervise ancillary staff, maintain a safe environment, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Support hospital readiness activities and adhere to professional standards and dress code.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in nursing (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred).
• Current California RN license.
• Minimum of one year of experience in critical care or acute care.
• Certification in Post Anesthesia Nursing is a plus.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Ability to participate in CPI training within 90 days of hire.
