RN OR Nursing Manager

About the Role

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie is seeking an experienced RN OR Manager to lead the growing Perioperative Services team. This full-time, day-shift position (Monday-Friday) offers a leadership opportunity within a collaborative, high-performing hospital known for its exceptional culture and commitment to patient care. The surgical services department is expanding with three new OR suites and two new surgeons planned for next year, creating a unique opportunity for a leader who thrives in growth and change.

Responsibilities

• Establish and share a vision for nursing practices within the unit.
• Collaborate with supervisors and nursing staff to achieve department goals through teamwork.
• Prioritize a positive work environment by implementing effective processes and protocols, fostering best nursing practices and research.
• Facilitate the professional development of team members in both clinical skills and leadership capabilities.
• Stay informed on new nursing research, best practices, and patient care models.
• Proactively identify and address ethical or clinical issues.
• Plan, develop, and implement policies, assess and track procedures, oversee budgets and resources, and manage quality initiatives and educational programs.
• Serve on governance councils to achieve organizational goals.

Requirements

• Current RN license.
• Operating Room experience (required).
• Leadership/management experience (required).
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Team-oriented leadership focused on quality, safety, and employee engagement.
• Familiarity with nursing procedures, patient care standards, regulations, laws, and accreditation guidelines.
• Basic computer skills, including office software, information security, scheduling/payroll systems, patient record management, and email.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Nursing.
• Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in a relevant role.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
