RN OR Nursing Manager

Baylor Scott & White Waxahachie is seeking an experienced RN OR Manager to lead our growing Perioperative Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing hospital known for its exceptional culture and commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities

As the Nurse Operating Room Manager, you will:

• Establish and share your vision for nursing practices within the unit.
• Work closely with supervisors and nursing staff to reach department goals through teamwork.
• Prioritize a positive work environment by ensuring effective processes and protocols, fostering best nursing practices and research.
• Encourage the growth of each team member by facilitating their professional development in both clinical skills and leadership capabilities.
• Stay informed on new nursing research, best practices, and patient care models.
• Proactively identify and address any ethical or clinical issues that may arise.
• Plan, develop, and implement policies, assess and track procedures, oversee budgets and resources, manage quality initiatives, and educational programs.
• Serve on governance councils to achieve goals.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Operating Room experience (required)
• Leadership/management experience (required)
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Team-oriented leader focused on quality, safety, and employee engagement
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Nursing
• Minimum of 3 years prior experience in a relevant role
• Basic life support certification (BLS) or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire

Skills

• Familiarity and proficiency in nursing procedures and patient care standards
• Knowledge of regulations, laws, and rules, as well as certification and accreditation guidelines
• Familiarity with hospital standards and department policies related to nursing care
• Basic computer skills, including office software, information security, scheduling/payroll systems, patient record management, and email use
