Job Summary

The Manager of the Emergency Department manages the operations and activities of the ED Department. Assist Director of ED with the overall management of the departments operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives established. Responsible for the staff performance and the accomplishment of departmental responsibilities in accord with corporate, hospital, department, and safety policies and procedures to meet both company care and regulatory requirements. Responsible for providing high-quality patient care to and acting as a liaison with patients and their representative, physicians, employees, and community agencies. Responsible for the efficient operation of the departments and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize cost.

Qualifications

  • Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Current Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Current Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification or must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience in an acute care setting
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a full time Charge Nurse/ Coordinator, Nursing Administrative Supervisor, or Nursing Management
