Job Summary

You will deliver compassionate, high-quality care that impacts patients' well-being and recovery. You will assess patients, develop care plans, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure effective implementation of care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides effective, comprehensive evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes.
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure comprehensive, holistic, and effective plan of care.
  • Applies knowledge of current practice standards, guidelines, statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Demonstrates accountability for ethical behavior and supports ethical practice by addressing or escalating issues.
  • Serves as a patient advocate.
  • Completes patient assessments competently.
  • Affirms physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, discharge, and cultural needs.
  • Develops an individualized plan of care based on assessment of the patient.
  • Coordinates with other disciplines when indicated.
  • Prioritizes care needs and sets measurable goals and time frames.
  • Includes patient and family in the planning.
  • Implements interventions based on nursing and medical plan of care.
  • Manages patient population, diagnosis, and age-specific needs through appropriate adaptation of interventions.
  • Appropriately utilizes equipment and supplies (including following established policies, procedures, and protocols governing the transport, handling, and storage of intravenous fluids).
  • Updates the plan of care to reflect current care needs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients' condition (LOC change, vital signs, test results) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.

Requirements

  • Required: 6 months acute care experience in labor and delivery, 5 years nursing experience, current and active California license as a Registered Nurse, AHA Basic Fetal Monitoring, NRP, ACLS, BLS certifications required, Moderate Sedation for all monitored areas.
  • Preferred: 1 year of acute care experience in labor and delivery, Bachelors of Nursing.

Pay Range

$57.42 - $77.97 /hour
