About the role

Beacon Behavioral Hospital seeks a REGISTER NURSE to join their team. Located across southeast Louisiana, Beacon provides inpatient and intensive outpatient programs for emotional disorders, substance abuse, and mental disorders.

Responsibilities

• Function as the Charge Nurse, overseeing LPNs, CNAs, and Mental Health Technicians.
• Assure care provided adheres to ANA standards and uses evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate in developing and implementing the treatment program, including individual Plans of Care.
• Serve as the Medication Nurse as needed and assist LPNs and other staff.
• Work as the liaison between program staff and medical staff.
• Operate within established budget and staffing guidelines.
• Engage in Performance Improvement through the PDSA cycle.
• Model professionalism, positive attitude, and excellent patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse licensure in the state of operation.
• Bachelor’s, Associate degree, or diploma in nursing with a focus on treating psychiatric patients.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience, 1 year of which was providing care to the mentally ill, or regular supervision/consultation from a Master’s prepared psychiatric nurse.
• Certification in Basic Life Support.
• Certification in non-violent crisis intervention.
