Patient Care RN
About the role
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within a specified unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill, are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures, and nursing philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
- Develops a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
- Maintains confidentiality of the patient medical record.
- Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
- Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
- Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
- Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions, when appropriate.
- Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
- Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
- Demonstrate quality, safe, and effective patient care.
- Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
- Demonstrate standards of excellence which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork, and integrity.
- Demonstrate understanding and execute quality and performance improvement plans (only for RN evaluation).
- Participate in decision making and take actions based on ethical principles (only for RN evaluation).
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
Requirements
Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
- Education: Associate Degree; Nursing; or Nursing Diploma.
- Credential(s): Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or ability to complete on-site session.

- Education: Bachelor Degree; Nursing
- Credential(s): Certification related to the position, if applicable.

Pay
SALARY RANGE: $37.98 - $58.87 per hour
