About the role

Beacon Behavioral Hospital seeks a REGISTER NURSE to join their team. Beacon is one of the largest and most established behavioral health programs in Louisiana, offering inpatient and intensive outpatient programs across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Function as the Charge Nurse, overseeing LPNs, CNAs, and Mental Health Technicians.
• Assure care provided aligns with ANA standards and utilizes evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate in developing and implementing the treatment program, including individual Plans of Care.
• Assist in medication administration and support LPNs and other staff as needed.
• Work as liaison between program staff and medical staff, adhering to budget and staffing guidelines.
• Engage in Performance Improvement through the PDSA cycle of improvement.
• Model professionalism, positive attitude, and excellent patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse licensure in the state of operation.
• Bachelor’s, Associate degree, or diploma in nursing with a focus on treating psychiatric patients.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience, with 1 year specifically in caring for the mentally ill.
• Certification in Basic Life Support.
• Certification in non-violent crisis intervention.
