Location: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Plano

Shift: Full‑time, days – 3 twelve‑hour shifts per week.

Job Summary

Registered Nurse in the Adult Mixed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit with a heavy neurological component. Provide patient assessment, develop and evaluate care plans, delegate tasks, and ensure safe, effective care in a 32‑bed ICU (patient ratio 1:2).

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
• Create, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans; adjust plans to achieve desired outcomes.
• Educate patients, families, and community members about health conditions and care options.
• Delegate tasks appropriately based on patient condition and team competencies; follow up promptly.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including intensivists, ANPs, and nursing staff, to deliver bedside surgical interventions and stroke care.
• Maintain compliance with the Texas Nursing Practice Act, hospital policies, and nursing standards.
• Demonstrate professional communication, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Participate in peer development, community service, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in Texas.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience.
• BLS certification (or obtain within 30 days of start).
• Specialized field of study: Nursing.
