About the Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care tailored to the department's specific requirements and aligned with state and specialty scope and standards. As an RN, you will collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide individualized, compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while supporting the organization’s vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record accurately and promptly.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for clarity.
• Educate patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures, including lifestyle changes, disease prevention, and healthy habits.
• Prepare patients and families for future self-management of care.
• Manage evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver holistic patient treatment plans that promote recovery.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree.

Requirements

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
