RN - Head Nurse - Medical/Surgical Observation

Role Overview The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a specific nursing unit. They utilize the nursing process to guide clinical decisions, ensuring safe, compassionate, and quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity. The role involves providing clinical leadership, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting continuous improvement in healthcare delivery. Key Responsibilities Interpret and integrate diagnostic data related to patient conditions.Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement department improvements.Guide staff during critical situations and evaluate intervention outcomes.Implement innovative processes to enhance patient outcomes.Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, staffing, and performance evaluations.Support ongoing learning and professional development.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 2 years experience in the current unit or similar setting.RN licensure with BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.Computer literacy required; additional skills are desirable.
